The N.C. Arts Council is pleased to share the following opportunities for artists that have recently been submitted to us. Please contact the organization listed if you have any questions.
The Arts Council does not endorse or recommend any specific opportunities, but provides this list for information only. We encourage artists to research each opportunity thoroughly before applying. Artist opportunities may be submitted to jennifer.huggins@ncdcr.gov.

General Artist Opportunities
National Association for Latino Arts and Culture
Grant opportunity open to all Latino artists in the United States. The NALAC Fund for the Arts (NFA) provides funding for projects, programs and artist fellowships to artists and small and mid-sized organizations working in all artistic disciplines. Grants range in size from $2,500 to $10,000.

Literary Arts
Linda Flowers Literary Award 2009, North Carolina Humanities Council
A prize of $500, publication in North Carolina Conversations, and a writer's residency at Weymouth Center for the Arts and Humanities is given annually by the North Carolina Humanities Council for original entries of fiction, nonfiction, or poetry that draw on North Carolina connections and/or memories. Authors do not have to be North Carolinians, and there is no entry fee. Submit five copies of an unpublished entry no longer than 2,500 words.

Visual Arts
Arts Council of York County, Rock Hill, SC
The Arts Council of York County's 20th Annual Juried Competition is open to artists 18 years and over. Only original work not previously shown at the Center for the Arts, Dalton Gallery and created in the last two years will be accepted. All media except video are acceptable.

Ruth and Harold Chenven Foundation
Applications are now being accepted for annual awards to U.S. artists who are engaged in or planning a craft or visual art project. The Chenven Foundation provides cash awards to individual artists and crafts artists, selected by a panel of judges.

Chapel Hill Public Arts Office
The Chapel Hill Public Arts Office invites artists to apply for the 2009–2010 juried exhibitions series at Chapel Hill Town Hall and Chapel Hill Public Library. Open to 2D and 3D artists.

Saratoga Arts Celebration, Saratoga Springs, NY
The Saratoga Arts Celebration is a juried fine art and fine crafts festival located on the Great Lawn of the National Museum of Dance in Saratoga Springs. This beautiful new event will celebrate the visual and performing arts August 22–23. Juried fine arts will be showcased along with the Dance Museum's exhibitions and school. Outdoor and indoor spaces available.

The Junior League of Raleigh, Inc.
The Junior League of Raleigh, Inc. (JLR) and Visual Art Exchange (VAE) present the "Someplace Like Home" juried art exhibition, October 21–25. "Someplace Like Home" is a special feature of the JLR's A Shopping SPREE!, an annual four-day shopping fundraiser that attracts more than 13,000 shoppers from around the country. More than $1,000 will be awarded in prizes, but the biggest draws of this exhibition are exposure to 13,000 potential clients and three prestigious jurors and the potential for sales.

The Marco Island Foundation for the Arts, Marco Island, FL
Call to all artists in the U.S. for the 3rd Biennial Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition. Currently seeking sculptures for a long-term outdoor exhibition project for ArtQuest 2010. Showing offers a range of opportunities and great exposure. At least a dozen high quality sculptures are on exhibition at various business locations around the area.
