Grants for Writers

This program operates on a two-year cycle. Writers will be eligible to apply in the fall of every even-numbered year. Artist fellowships are designed to support the achievements of North Carolina artists and to recognize the central contribution they make to the creative environment of our state. Currently grants of $10,000 are awarded to artists to set aside time to work, buy supplies and equipment or pursue other artistic goals. Grant funds can support any expenses related to the proposal. Grant funds cannot support academic research or formal study toward an academic or professional degree.
