Community Arts Administration Internships

This program provides two individuals with a three-month intensive, supervised internship with one of the state's local arts councils or arts centers. Interns receive a $5,000 stipend to cover living expenses. Applicants must have at least a four-year college degree and demonstrate a strong interest in a career in community arts administration. North Carolina applicants are given priority consideration, but qualified individuals living outside the state are also encouraged to apply. The application deadline is always the first Monday in May.


Folklife Internship

This three-month internship provides intensive, directed training with the Arts Council's Folklife staff. The intern receives a $5,000 stipend for the three-month period. The internship takes place for twelve weeks between April and August, 2010. Applicants must have completed at least one year of graduate study in folklife or related fields (ethnomusicology, anthropology, history, etc.) or have experience with traditional arts and culture. The application deadline is always the first Monday in March.
