The following is a listing of conservation resources that may provide information, advice, and/or treatment services. The list is not intended as an endorsement or recommendation of any individual or group nor as an all-inclusive summary of available services but rather as a convenience to assist organizations and individuals beginning their research into the appropriate treatment of works of art. Comments and suggestions from our constituents for additions to this list are welcome. You might begin your research with general resources, such as the American Institute for Conservation web site; a list of regionally based conservators with specialties follows.

You are advised always to check references and qualifications when selecting professionals to undertake conservation treatment activities. Some of these conservators may also offer conservation survey or assessment services; others may only be listed as resources for advice or information. The North Carolina Museum of Art conservation department is also a good source for advice and referrals.
