North Carolina Arts Council Strategic Plan 2025-2029: Public Input

Dear arts community,
For more than a year, our staff and board have engaged in conversations with stakeholders and reviewed the work of the North Carolina Arts Council. The outcome is an ambitious 5-year plan designed to bring more resources to the arts sector, increase the field’s capacity to take on the opportunities and challenges facing us, and elevate the positive impact that the arts have in North Carolina.
In this process we evaluated our Grassroots Art Program, convened conversations with artists and arts leaders, and analyzed our arts in education efforts across the agency. We've looked inward, exploring how we can increase efficiency and support. We are determined to establish partnerships and new marketing strategies to allow for greater visibility, awareness, and results. Lastly, we are committed to leading long-range efforts to stabilize and innovate in western North Carolina.
As we have prepared for the plan, we’ve learned so much thanks to the many conversations we’ve had. We will continue to engage, listen, and adjust to the changing needs of the field. We're excited to share these plans with you and look forward to hearing your thoughts.
Sincerely,

Jeff Bell
